If you're looking for an exciting way to explore the rich culture and lifestyle of Kathmandu Valley, a mountain bike tour is a perfect choice. Track 1: Kathmandu-Tolkha-Kathmandu Tour: 32km/19 miles
This is an excellent beginner's route that starts with a gentle climb from Kathmandu and ends with a thrilling descent past typical villages and farmland. You can demonstrate your skills and control on this scenic trail. Before returning to Kathmandu, visit the ancient Tolkha Temple.
Track 2: Kathmandu-Jamcho-Kathmandu Tour: 45km/27 miles
This is a challenging route that can be covered on a motorbike in three or four hours. The path is tough through the jungles of Shivapuri National Park, with stunning views from the summit and an adventurous descent down a rough, groomed path that's a must-ride for serious mountain bikers.
Track 3: Kathmandu Scar Road Tour
This is one of the most anticipated and challenging rides within the Kathmandu Valley. The trail leads to Kakani (2030m), a beautiful hill station on the valley edge with fabulous views of the Himalayas before proceeding to Budhanilkantha. After passing by the Budhanilkantha Temple, we return to Kathmandu. The tour takes around 5-6 hours.
Track 4: Kathmandu-Chobar-Lele-Godward- Kathmandu Tour
Designed for intermediate-level riders, this tour includes a mix of Jeep courses, US roads, and trails. It's a scenic drive to the southern end of the Kathmandu Valley, taking us through the small villages of Newar and Tamang communities before climbing steeply to Dhanda, where we have a clear view of Kathmandu Valley and mountain ranges. The drive is approximately 47 km (28 miles) long.
Track 5: Budhanilkantha-Kapan Tour
This is a challenging tour that takes around five to six hours, starting in Kathmandu, traveling to Budhanilkantha, then to Kapan, and back to Kathmandu. The route passes through significant places, historical temples, shrines, and monasteries. You can also engage with nuns and monks at some of the monasteries during specific times.
