Day to Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu
Upon your arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, a representative from the trekking agency will welcome and transfer you to the hotel. You can rest for the day or explore the vibrant city of Kathmandu on your own.

Day 2: Drive to Sundarijal and Trek to Chisopani
You will start your trek early in the morning after breakfast. A drive to Sundarijal from Kathmandu takes about an hour. The trek begins from Sundarijal and passes through lush forests of rhododendron and oak, waterfalls, and streams. You will cross a dam and reach the entrance of the Shivapuri National Park. The trail further ascends to reach Chisopani. You can witness the panoramic view of the mountains from here.

Day 3: Trek from Chisopani to Kutumsang
The trail passes through beautiful farmlands, forests, and a small village of Pati Bhanjyang. You will also witness some beautiful waterfalls and cross streams on the way. Kutumsang is a small village with a beautiful mountain backdrop.

Day 4: Trek from Kutumsang to Tharepati
Today, you will trek through the dense forest of rhododendron and pass by several small villages. You will cross the highest point of the trek, which is Tharepati Pass, at an altitude of 3,650 meters. From here, you can get a breathtaking view of the mountains like Langtang, Ganesh Himal, and Gauri Shankar.

Day 5: Trek from Tharepati to Melamchigaun
The trek today takes you through dense forests of oak and rhododendron, which is a habitat of several wildlife species like musk deer and Himalayan thar. You will reach Melamchigaun after descending a steep trail. It is a beautiful village with a distinct Hyolmo culture.

Day 6: Trek from Melamchigaun to Tarkegyang
The trail today takes you through a beautiful forest, crossing several streams and small waterfalls. You will also pass through a small settlement of Nakote, which is mostly inhabited by Sherpa people. The trail further descends to reach Tarkegyang, a beautiful village with several monasteries and traditional houses.

Day 7: Explore Tarkegyang
You can explore the village of Tarkegyang today, and learn about the local Hyolmo culture and lifestyle. You can visit the Gompa and interact with the monks. You can also visit the nearby villages and witness the daily life of the local people.

Day 8: Trek from Tarkegyang to Sermathang or Kiultapkakharka and drive to Melamchi Bazar
Today, you will trek to Sermathang, which is a small village with several monasteries and apple orchards. Alternatively, you can drive to Kiultapkakharka and trek to Melamchi Bazar. From Melamchi Bazar, you will take a drive back to Kathmandu.

Day 9: Departure from Kathmandu
Your trek comes to an end today. A representative from the trekking agency will transfer you to the airport for your departure flight.

You will be staying in tea houses or lodges during the trek on room sharing basis (twin-sharing). Every room has a twin bed with basic facilities. You can also get a single room on your demand but it might cost you a bit more. Most tea houses or lodges provide a hot shower with an extra charge for using the hot shower.

You will get almost every food during this trek but it also depends upon the place where you are staying. Normally, all the lodges provide basic Nepalese foods apart from that some hotels and lodges also provide western food.
