Day to Day Itinerary

Day 1: Drive to Dhunche

We shall begin our journey early in the morning. After breakfast, our guide will assist you in getting to the Machha Pokhari Bus Station. From Kathmandu, we will travel by bus to Dhunche (2,030m/6,660ft).

We will be able to enjoy the scenic settlements and meadows all along the road. It would take us around 5-6 hours to reach Dhunche along a lovely picturesque road and the vast Trishuli river.

Dhunche is a tiny town area and the administrative center of Rasuwa District. After arriving at Dhunche, we will go about the village and interact with the inhabitants. After an enjoyable evening with the locals, we will spend the night at a well-kept tea house.

Day 2: Trek to Chandanwari

After breakfast, we will begin our day 2 trek at Dhunche and trek towards Chandanwari. And after about 2 hours of climbing, we will reach Deurali (2,500m), a small settlement on the road to Chandanbari with a few tea houses.

After 3 hours of hiking on a lovely track that passes between streamlets and cascades, we will arrive at Dhimsa (2,900m). The climb from Dhimsa is slightly challenging, as the route ascends through lovely pine trees. We must trek tough uphill stretches to reach Chandanwari (3200m), a town nestled in a pine forest. This location is also known as Sing Gompa.

The town of Chandanwari has a lot to offer its guests. Chandanwari's main attractions include a Yak cheese plant and a monastery. We'll have some excellent Yak cheese and head to Sing Gompa.

We'll spend the night at Chandanwari in the evening, after a big lunch with heaps of cheese.

Day 3: Trek to Gosaikunda.

Following our hearty breakfast in Chandanwari, we will hike uphill to Gosaikunda(4361m). Today the hiking will be comparatively more difficult than yesterday.

The trail gradually ascends from the beginning. We will be hiking via a rugged and narrow trail to Gosaikunda. Gradually when we ascend, you will have to walk through barren hills and encounter cold breeze. So, make sure you have clothes warm enough to keep you fine in such a cold environment.

After hiking for nearly 1 and a half hours, we will get to Cholangpaty(3500m). Now the views of mountains like Langtang Lirung(7234m), Langtang Ri(7205m), Manaslu(8163m), and Ganesh Himal(7422m) are close and clear.

We still have a 2-hour walk to go until we reach Lauribinayak (3900m). A broad view of Langtang Lirung, Ganesh Himal, Manaslu, and Langtang Ri can be seen from Lauri Binayak.

Then, after a two-hour hike up, we will arrive at Sakyamuni Temple, which represents both Buddhist and Hindu beliefs. After a half-hour hike, we will witness the Saraswati Kunda, Bhairav Kunda, and Mighty Lake Gosaikunda lakes. We'll spend the night in a tea house after exploring some neighboring lakes.

Day 4: Trek back to Dhunche.

We'll enjoy the lovely morning while eating breakfast at our hotel. We'll tour Gosaikunda before making our way back to Dhunche by way of Lauribinayak, Dhimsa, and Deurali.

The final day of the journey is today. So, savor every moment of the journey. We will be climbing downhills while taking in the enticing vistas of the mountains, pine forest, and the flavorful Chandanwari cheese. We will be descending, so trekking will be a little simpler and more enjoyable. Along the walk, we'll also see a variety of protected species, including Wood Snipe, Snow Partridge, Tibetan Snow Cock, etc.

We will arrive in Dhunche after a 7-hour hike.

Day 5: Return to Kathmandu.

The last day of our journey is today. After a lovely night's sleep in one of Dhunche's tea houses, we shall have breakfast. After breakfast, we will board a coach and proceed to Kathmandu over a beautiful road, taking in the majesty of the enormous Trishuli River, meadows, and attractive towns.

Approximately 6-7 hours of riding will get us to Kathmandu. Here we get to the finish of our journey.

You will have a lot to treasure from this journey experience. You will always remember the majestic Gosaikunda lake, beautiful paths, the culturally rich Tamang people, the Tibetan-influenced way of life, and the mouthwatering Yak's cheese.
